Biogas

Biomass products can be put through a digestion process to create methane (biogas) and fertilizer in a process called gasification. The methane is captured and burned to generate electricity, to generate heat, or is compressed and used in transport. Methane can be produced from many waste streams, such as landfill gas, industrial processes or sewage.

Biogas is one type of biofuel and is usually produced from capturing methane from landfill decomposition.
